Great Cross Sound Race
This race started years ago as a challenge
between two Bainbridge residents; it begins at Alki, rounds Blakely
Rock and the Decatur reef buoy, and returns to Alki. Recent years have
seen a hundred or so assorted boats, from fast shells and Olympic kayaks,
to rowboats, pedal boats and outrigger canoes (8/25/01 at 9 a.m.).
