The Southwest Sector is one of the most favored areas on Bainbridge Island. Most neighborhoods in this area have excellent exposure to the the warm Winter.19 Crystal Springs

The "no-bank" and "low-bank" beaches along Rich Passage rank among the finest on the island. While most of the Winter storms come out of the southwest, these storms are usually mild compared to the northerlies that begin in Alaska.
As recently as 25 years ago, Crystal Springs, Point White and Pleasant Beach Drives had many uninsulated summer cottages in which many Seattle families vacationed. Fort Ward, a retired Naval Radio Station that has been platted for single family dwellings and a State Waterfront Park, still contains several monumental examples of pre-WWI military style architecture (it was here the Japanese Purple Code was broken during WWII, giving the allies an advantage).
