Downtown Winslow

Before Bainbridge Island became a city a few years ago, Winslow, with a population of some 2700 was the only city on the Island. The "Downtown" area is two and a half blocks long, quaint, yet able to provide the populations' everyday needs, as well as provide dozens of restaurants, clothiers, professional services and specialty shops, such as travel, printing and gift shops, antique and book stores, jewelers, arts & crafts, stationers and lots more.

Winslow is a bustling little town that maintains its old time flavor, and while there is a relatively new shopping village less than a mile away, it is Winslow where the Grand Old Fourth is celebrated as it was 100 years ago; where you find the concerts and "start" line for events; carolling at Christmas, and all the activities that are in keeping with a single community that hasn't forgotten "from whence it came."
